Solarize Westchester teams up local communities with competitively chosen solar photovoltaic (“PV”) installers to make residential and small commercial solar energy more accessible and affordable for residents and businesses across our county.
Solarize Westchester will conduct two phases of Solarize Campaigns, the first starting in Fall 2014 selecting four communities (or a coalition of communities) for each phase – for a total of eight campaigns. Coalitions of two to three communities may join together to submit one application.
Once selected, communities will work with the Solarize Westchester Team to choose their own solar pre-qualified solar installer. The selected solar installer(s) will provide competitive tiered pricing (where prices drop for everyone as more residents sign up!), free site visits, and collaboration in community outreach and education, over a 16 to 20-week community outreach campaign with the goal of dramatically increasing the number of existing solar PV installations in each community for residents and small businesses.
